FAQs
Arris rails provide structural support for fencing. They're typically used with feather edge fence boards, which create closeboard fence panels when overlapped vertically. Place the rails horizontally against the boards to frame and strengthen the panels.
The number of arris rails you need for your fence depends on the size of your project. Two to three arris rails per fence panel is usually enough. For fences up to 1200mm in height, two will usually keep the panel secure. For taller fences, you'll likely need three rails at the bottom, middle and top of the panel.
You can use galvanised steel brackets to secure your arris rails to the fence posts. You can also find rails with shaped ends, designed to slot straight into morticed concrete or timber posts.
